OPTIONS INDUSTRY COUNCIL JOINS RANKS OF ALLIANCE FOR INVESTOR EDUCATION

Nation's Premier Group for Best in Investor Education Now Totals 22 Members

WASHINGTON, D.C.//April 27, 2010//The non-profit Alliance for Investor Education (AIE) announced today that The Options Industry Council (OIC) is its newest participating organization. The 22-member Alliance for Investor Education (http://www.investoreducation.org) provides investors with access to a full range of information they need to make wise investment decisions.

Alliance for Investor Education President Dallas Salisbury, who also serves as president and CEO of the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) and chairman of the American Savings Education Council (ASEC), said: "We're happy to welcome the Options Industry Council into the membership of the Alliance. We look forward to their contributions to the Alliance, which will work towards furthering the dialogue about investor education in the United States. The education they provide in the form of online classes, seminars, Webcasts and an extensive library of printed materials helps the investing public understand the benefits and risks of exchange-traded equity options."

Gina McFadden, president of the Options Industry Council, said: "We are very pleased to be able to join Alliance for Investor Education members to help inform the investing public. OIC has been providing education to help investors understand the benefits and risks of equity options for nearly 18 years. OIC's educational offerings should complement those of our Alliance partners in expanding investor knowledge."

The Options Industry Council (OIC) was created in 1992 as an industry cooperative to increase the understanding of exchange-listed options and promote their responsible use among individual investors, their financial advisors and institutional investors. OIC offerings include live seminars, a comprehensive website (http://www.optionseducation.org) with trading tools and online classes, newsletters and brochures and a free Help Desk staffed by options professionals. Today, its sponsors include the U.S. Options Exchanges and The Options Clearing Corporation.
